Domain Name DNS

The domain name system (DNS) stores and associates many types of information with domain names, but most importantly, it translates domain names (computer hostnames) to IP addresses.
It also lists mail exchange servers accepting e-mail for each domain. In providing a worldwide keyword-based redirection service, DNS is an essential component of contemporary Internet use.

Useful for several reasons, the DNS pre-eminently makes it possible to attach easy-to-remember domain names (such as "abc.com.") to hard-to-remember IP addresses (such as 66.230.200.100).

Most Internet services rely on DNS to work, and if DNS fails, web sites cannot be located and e-mail delivery stalls. Every domain name has a DNS record, which allows your web browser to locate the web server that hosts your site.

Switching your domain name’s DNS can be easy depending on who you registered your domain name with.

Great! If you do intend on registering a domain name there are hundreds of sites out there that can help you do this. However, during the registration process you will reach a point where you are required to enter servernames/ numbers to point your domain name.

Nationwide Home Business Center can register a domain name for you, for $35.00 /

To take advantage of this, simply call us direct at 1-503-521-9217 and tell a friendly Customer Service Representative that you would like to register a domain name.

It’s handy if you have a list of 5 possible names you would like to register available, in
case someone else has already registered your first choice.

Any future modifications to the DNS record can be executed by us, however you are the legal owner and controller of your domain name.

If you register a domain name yourself, we recommend you register through
Network Solutions or GoDaddy.com.
